If you've never watched The Streets of San Francisco, you missed Karl Malden informing a very young Michael Douglas on the finer points of acting. (You also missed a lot of San Francisco as they filmed on location.)
Karl Malden passed away this week. His stage work was as strong as his work in film and television. His work opposite Marlon Brando (stage and film) brought both to national attention.
He always seemed to be human inside the characters he presented. He'll be missed.
