Cesaria Evora passed away last week. She didn't get a lot of notice in The States, but in her home country of Cape Verde, she was a giant. I've listened to her music, a style called morna, and it pulls you in slowly but completely. Check out her music. Cape Verde declared a 2-day period of mourning to celebrate her life.
