Vic Chestnut died on Christmas Day after taking an overdose of muscle relaxing drugs a week earlier. He spent his last week in a coma. He was only 45 years old.
You probably haven't heard of him, but back in the 90's his music received a lot of attention. I didn't know he was still performing and touring nationally and internationally. He toured recently behind an album he made with Guy Picciotto of Fugzai. Vic's self-penned Bio is definitely worth reading slowly.
Vic had a lot of fans in music stardom. He ended up in a wheelchair as a result of a drunk driving accident where he was the drunk driver. He's been candid about that, and if that's not a reason to cut back on drinking, I don't know what is.
I'm breaking out some of his music to listen to this morning.
