Back in the 1980's I became acquainted with Philip C. Bolger's designs through WoodenBoat Magazine and the Wooden Boat Show in Newport, R.I. I don't remember meeting him, but I do remember liking his work. I built a few skiff models at home and toyed with the idea of building a working skiff, probably based on one of his designs and/or kits. I didn't get that far, but I do remember his work as being fun, just as the obituary writer states.
